Buddy’s Pulled Pork

The secret to good barbecue is taking it low and slow - a low temperature (we do ours about 275 degrees) for about 90 minute per pound of meat. So for this 5 lb cut of meat, we cooked it for about 8 hours.

  1. Start with a good coating of Buddy's Dry Rub poured liberally all over the meat and rubbed into every crevice.

  2. Put the meat directly on the grill rack for about 3 hours until it starts to brown.

  3. Wrap the meat in aluminum foil and let it continue to cook on the grill for another several hours (remember 90 minutes for every pound of meat). At that point it should be falling apart.

  4. Shred the meat to your desired size using two forks in a pan.

  5. Pour Buddy's Barbecue Sauce over the meat and return the shredded meat and sauce mixture (covered with foil) onto the grill for a few minutes for everything to heat up until you're ready to serve it.
